What’s New - CHP reviews local HIV/AIDS situation in first quarter of 2018  29/05/2018

Click to enlarge the graph showing Annual and Cumulative HIV/AIDS Statistics in Hong KongA total of 142 additional cases of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection were reported to the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) in the first quarter of 2018, bringing the cumulative total of reported HIV infections to 9 233 since 1984.

Reviewing the latest HIV/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) situation in Hong Kong at a press conference today (May 29), the Consultant (Special Preventive Programme) of the CHP, Dr Kenny Chan, said that sexual transmission remained the major mode of HIV transmission.

What’s New - “Red Ribbon in Action” AIDS Educating Funding Scheme invites application  08/05/2018

The Red Ribbon Centre would like to invite local community groups, including seniors, women, youth groups, kaifong welfare association as well as those at work or at schools, to apply for the "Red Ribbon in Action" AIDS Education Funding Scheme. Maximal funding amount is HKD10000.

What’s New - Workshop for Healthcare Professionals 2018  08/05/2018

Workshop for Healthcare Professionals 2018 - “HIV and Sexual Minorities”, will be held on 13rd July 2018 at the Auditorium, Argyle Street Jockey Club School Dental Clinic. It aims to update and enhance participants’ (1) Information on HIV/AIDS Situation in Hong Kong, (2) Medical Knowledge on HIV and Viral Hepatitis, as well as (3) Sensitivity when Providing Services to People Living with HIV (PLHIV). Please register by 22 June, 2018.


What’s New - 'Love Yourself Get A Condom ' Health Promotion Activity at Departure Hall of Shenzhen Bay Port Hong Kong Port Area  08/05/2018

A health promotion activity “ Love Yourself Get A Condom”, organised by Red Ribbon Centre, Department of Health, will be held from 6 to 31 August 2018 at Departure Hall of Shenzhen Bay Port Hong Kong Port Area.

A series of attractive posters will be posted up at passageway to promote safer sex. During the activity, pamphlets, souvenirs and free condoms will be distributed to provide health information on how to prevent sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS.


What’s New - Roving Exhibition on “Women and AIDS “ and “AIDS, Test Early, Treat Early “  05/03/2018

A roving exhibition on HIV/AIDS is going to be held to enhance knowledge and awareness of the public to the disease and its prevention methods. At the exhibition venue, pamphlets and souvenirs will be distributed.
